Snuggling With Lily

Rainy day: overcast, grey, dripping, drizzling, dreary. Don’t even want to get out of bed, curl deeper under the covers. I feel a cat jump up and walk across the blanket, she paws at its edge near my shoulder, purring for attention. I pet her head, scratch behind her ears. She spins a circle, flops on my shoulder and kneads a little before settling down into a warm, soft, fuzzy, purring cat nap. Any idea of getting up vanishes, I curl around her and absorb her comforting catness. She smells like summer sun warmed earth, dusty and dry, but full of promise. Love a cat!
